Calming The Busy Mind

What happens when your mind is overly busy and you feel preoccupied by thoughts and stories?

When the mind is this busy and you find yourself getting lost and thought, you can’t be fully in your body and in your presence. A good portion of your consciousness is now focused, in tunnel, vision, into these other places and spaces where the thoughts reside, it can be passed, future, elsewhere.  This points to your multidimensionality, except you are leaving your body in the current moment and separating off into another space rather than bringing all of you here, now, into your oneness.

Not being fully in your body causes breakdown, What people typically refer to as aging.

The more preoccupied and busy you get with thinking, the more you feed it energy and life.  It picks up steam like a snowball rolling downhill.

So, what do you do when you’ve been in the mind and your body is feeling depleted and worn down, your mind feeling scattered, and you’re not feeling your natural expansiveness and lightness?

You take back your power.  You have absolute capability of doing this, and turning the situation around.

At this point, the mind has gained a lot of momentum and energy and steam. Just be aware that it will not stop on a dime. It will take some time for that energy to run out.

I’m going to give you the most simple, clear, and direct answer for how to change this and I promise if you do it, it will work every time.  Whether you want to sit down, lie down or take a walk, do it works for you.

FEEL - DON’T THINK

1.  Feel your breath.  Feel the air on your skin, feel your body’s weight.  Just FEEL what it feels like to be alive in a body.

2.  Feel all of this without thinking about it or labeling it. Just feel.

3.  The mind will try to pull you out of this. Keep shifting your awareness back to feeling. Every time a story or thought arises stay feeling through your body.

4.  Don’t leave your body, keep feeling.  5.  Once you are able to do this in your quiet time, take this practice into your busy time.   Do this at work, with friends, watching TV, driving your car, washing your dishes.

Feel and feel and feel. This alone will keep you in awareness - Namaste
