Self Care & Fallacies of Enlightenment

I’ve talked to three people in the past week who were all struggling with the same kind of beliefs:
🔹 A wise woman asked me, “Do you ever receive support like the kind you offer others?”
She already had her answers—she just needed space and reflection to let her knowing land in her body. Still, she felt unsure about asking for help.
🔹 Another friend asked if I use discipline to live the way I do. She had a big awakening and spent years in the energy of just being, but found it hard to reintegrate into daily life.
🔹 Someone else wondered if working with meridians and acupressure points—placing hands on the body—might interfere with Light Body integration.
🌀 You don’t need anyone else’s rule book to know what’s right for you.
🌀 There’s nothing wrong with needing support.
🌀 Your body needs care. Your mind might need structure. And that’s okay.
Presence doesn’t require a method. But tools, practices, and structure can help you stay clear and integrated. That’s not weakness. That’s embodied wisdom.
I’ve worked with the same facilitator for over 10 years. I rarely book sessions now, but I never deny myself if I feel it would help.
In my self-care, I breathe, do self-massage, use acupressure points, and more. It’s an ongoing practice of staying connected to my body. I make a schedule for myself too—it helps me stay grounded and not float through the day.
I occasionally pay for massage, yoga, chiropractic care, or energy work—not because I’m broken, but because it improves how I feel in a body.
We’re not meant to do this alone.
Support can come from friends, family, a good practitioner—or a neutral space to speak what’s been spinning inside.
💔 My closest friend died young. She was into all the same spiritual things I am, but she refused help—especially when it came to her health. She didn’t trust the medical system and avoided treatment. She was strong and independent, like me. That made us close. But I’ve learned that real strength includes being open to receive.
If you’re feeling stuck or unsure, I offer Clarity Sessions. And if I’m not the right fit, I can gladly do my best to refer you to someone who is.
There's no substitute for following your own knowing. Self-care—tending to your body, mind, and energy—is part of living well in this world. Don’t question it. Embrace it.
